Where: Saint-Malo. When: 13/16 August. Why: The city of Saint-Malo is just spectacular, and then if you consider that La route du Rock is one of the most enduring and appreciated french festival, the amusement is guaranteed. Between one concert and the other of Björk, The Notwist, Savages and Father John Misty we suggest you to visit l’Île du Grand Bé, a little rocky island where is buried the writer Chateaubriand.
Where: Budapest. When: 10/ 17 August. Why: the name refer to the island in the Danube that host the festival since 1993, and his fame is known at every latitude. Seven days of music, shows, installations, art: Sziget is an institution. Robbie Williams, Asaf Avidan, Gogol Bordello, Kasabian, Kings of Leon, are only some of the names that will fill the nearly 60 stages. A week of love, peace and music like in old good times.
Where : Chicago. When: 31 luglio/ 2 August Why: who loves grunge, loves Lollapalooza. Born as an itinerant festival from an idea of Perry Farrell (singer of Jane’s Addiction), for years has been a reference for the alternative rock scene. Kasabian, The Libertines, Mark Lanegan Band, Hot Chip, the cast is for real experts. Because Paris, under layers of romanticism, can be really rock.
Where: Reading. When: 28/30 August. Why: we close this overview with an event that is the emblem of rock festival. Reading is the most ancient popular music festival in the world (he opened his doors in the ’60) and within years it has been supported by a twin event that happens in the same days in Leeds. If you love big festivals at impossible volumes you have to go once in a lifetime at Reading. 2015 pick up almost all of what’s in circulation, from Metallica to Deadmau5, from Bastille at Mumford & Sons.
